I would also like to enquire about said beverage.

Nope. It's somehow both nasty and bland. Wisconsin has many better breweries than that.

Looks like a creamy ale (no, NO pun intended).. Small to no taste of hops? Fruity almost like sparkling wine?

I actually quite enjoy it. Its a very common beer here in Wisconsin. It tends to be a beer people buy if they want to drink something a little more craft but not overly expensive. (15$ a 12 pack of bottles.) The thing of it is however, is that it is illegal to sell or export for sale outside of Wisconsin. That being said, any time i visit friends or family out of state, they beg me to bring this along with the other offerings of New Glarus Brewery. If you are ever in Wisconsin you have to try one, just to say you have. It has a very smooth taste and doesn't get overpowering with hops like other craft ales, its pretty unique in its flavor now that i really think about it.

Small taste of hops yes, creamy? kinda but very smooth. fruity not so much. Its really just a clean crisp ale with a smooth finish. I really enjoy it although there are a lot of other beers I would pick before it. Its kind of a staple of Wisconsin and has become the desire of many out of staters (illegal to sell or export for sale outside of wisconsin). The other offerings from New Glarus are also very good. I especially enjoy Moon Man or Naked. They do make some fruity beers as well and I will say they are the only fruity beers I have ever enjoyed.

It's not licensed to be sold outside of the state of Wisconsin. http://host.madison.com/business/spott…

Here is a bar in NYC that got in trouble for trying.

No shit wisconsin has better breweries than that, but to simply write off Spotted cow entirely is pretty amateur. Its a good beer for the price, and enjoyable on a hot summer day. Does it compete with every other beer wisconsin makes? fuck no.

I love three floyds when I can get it, usually alpha king is my go to for craft. If i am drinking wisconsin beers I go to my neighborhood brewery Lake Front and grab the River West Stein or the Cream City Pale Ale. Generally I dont drink New Glarus unless its provided for free, not because I don't like it, i just could spend my money on better beers. I also love Hinterland Brewery out of Green Bay. They make the best pub ale this side of the Atlantic, but unfortunately you can only get it on tap at their pricey restaurants.

Might as well drink a blue moon. I have had one beer from new glarus that I enjoyed and it was part of a limited run. That said I am planning on visiting their tasting room some time.

I hope to god you are trolling.

New Glarus is a good brewery, they have a range of stuff from Lambics to Stouts, all of which I personally am a fan of. Besides, it beats the other Wisconsin brewery *cough* Miller *cough*) by a huuuuge margin.

Have you tried three Floyd's zombie dust? It's pretty good. I usually stop there and pick up a case every time I drive into Michigan to go to Founders. I used to do dark lord day at three Floyd's but just got burnt out on the pure chaos. Founders kbs release days are awesome though! When I go up to green bay I can't drink because I fly up and back on the same day. :(

My local store just (past 6 mo) started carrying Magic Hat (brewed in VT) I used to get it all the time when I lived in New England, but its rarer here in NV. Also a big fan of Sam Adams and Stone Brewery (San Diego, CA).

If you are checking out The Bruery in Placentia, you most definitely need to check out Bootleggers up in Fullerton. There is also a relatively new brewery out in Rancho Santa Margarita called Cismontane that is worth checking out, but as far as I know you can only find their brews in local restaurants and from their taproom. SoCal is full of better and lesser known breweries than Stone. I kinda feel that Stone jumped the shark a bit and maybe expanded a bit too fast, Stones IPA used to be my go to every night beer and then when production got upped for national shipping the flavor changed and it is no longer one of my favorite IPAs now.

The Bruery is more belgian style brews and most are delicious from what I have tried. Bootleggers is more of your "traditional" style microbrewery but they have a great chipotle coffee stout that packs just the right amount of heat and is surprisingly easy to drink.

I only get out to SoCal once a year. :( I am stuck in Wisconsin. I have heard of bootleggers though.

The Bruery has all sorts of experimental type beers. I love their white chocolate. It sounds weird but is amazing.

Yeah, I don't get too much WI beers being down in IL. But, I do have the privilege of being 20 miles from Two Brothers, getting lots of Three Floyds, and at school being at the very northmost distribution of Schlafly.

So yeah, I guess I am able to make up for not getting WI beers with lots of other choices, so I can't complain too much ;)

Spotted Cow is pretty good beer - I like to partake when I go to Wisconsin. New Glarus is one of my employer's customers...ditto for Capital Brewing in Madison...Sierra Nevada, Dogfish Head, New Belgium, Boulevard and a *mess* of others are also our customers.

My real favorite from Three FLoyds is Jinx Proof. That shit is so so tastey I highly recommend you try it if you can find it. I love founders as well very good brewery. I have always wanted to go to Dark Lord Day just havent had the chance.

Haha if i was you i would definitely make the trip up here. Its illegal to export for sale but if you bought yourself a couple cases no one would say a thing. Definitely get your ass up here though.. If you come to milwaukee hit me up and I will show you are cities amazing micro brews. Lake Front, MKE are amazing, not to mention our Great Lakes Distillery. Also if you visit in summer we can go to the first outdoor beer garden in a public park since prohibition. We like to drink here in wisconsin, but we LOVE to drink outside.
